Meet the Maker

Just Jessica

Brentwood Bay,  BC

I started needle-felting 13 years ago. I was searching for a craft that was suitable for teaching women that lived in remote communities in Northern Peru. The hope was that this skill would generate opportunities for them to earn a livelihood. It was essential that the craft use locally sourced materials. It was a friend that suggested I consider needle felting as wool could be easily sourced in most communities. It turned out to be just what I was looking for and the bonus was that I absolutely loved needle-felting. The proceeds from all of my Christmas markets goes into supporting the work I do with women in Peru.
