Ed’s Soup Shack

Duncan,  BC

Ed’s Soup Shack was the brainchild of my mom, Karen Graves as a retirement hobby. My dad, Ed Graves was the number one taste tester so my mom put his name on the bag and he’s our spokesmodel. My mom would take recipes she loved and then convert them through trial and error into a dried soup mix. They mainly attended Farmers’ Markets but in 2016 I moved from the mainland to work with them on the business and just generally be closer to them. I designed the bags and even a couple recipes, then decided to spread the soup love! I started attending more markets and shows all over the island to get the word out and it worked! We started in my parents basement kitchen, we then moved to my converted single garage but outgrew that quickly. In 2022 we made the big leap to a warehouse! It’s not huge but better than the garage for sure. My mom passed in 2023 and my dad and I have vowed to continue her legacy and we hope everyone can enjoy her incredible talent. My inspiration is my mom, I miss her everyday but I use her memory to keep creating delicious and economical products everyone can enjoy.
